Epoxy Floor Coatings Supply Sebewaing, MI

Industrial Floor Coatings

To provide excellent anti-impact ability and resistance to wear and tear, we built our Eco-Floor solutions from 100% solids. Our formula includes a rubber additive and is created using Novolac Technology. Ideal for a wide variety of concrete and metal surfaces, these high-performance industrial and commercial epoxy floor coatings can be applied to damp surfaces and are resistant to gasoline, sewage, alkalis, and other corrosive substances. The Food and Drug Administration has deemed many of our products to be food –grade. This accreditation means that our customers can apply it even in areas where food products are handled. Our service area includes Industrial and Commercial Epoxy Floor Coating.

Eco-floor 1500 Coating and Repair Grout

box-imageAn economical, fast-set hybrid epoxy floor coating with good UV stability, this 100% solids polymer offers great impact and wear resistance and excellent compressive strength, tensile, and elongation. Eco-Floor 1500 is ideal for concrete floor coatings for kitchens, food processing plants, showrooms, supermarkets, garages, airplane hangars, and more. The clear option is an excellent topcoat for stained concrete. Lastly, its sole distributor and manufacturer, Construction Systems Supply, has acquired a food-grade accreditation from no less than the FDA.

SC-1100

box-imageThis pure solid low viscosity primer is a quick setting concrete sealer. Applying concrete sealers during winter and cold weather can reduce the effectiveness of the product; hence, we formulated SC-1100 to address exactly that product by increasing its cure rate. SC-1100 Fast Set is a 100% solids, low viscosity hybrid Novolac epoxy primers designed for deep penetration and sealing of concrete surfaces. SC-1100 Fast Set helps eliminate outgassing and bubbles. With its low vapor emission of <10 lbs, tests done using Anhydrous Calcium Chloride has shown that the product can be applied on concrete surfaces that were only poured seven days prior.

Eco-floor SC3300

box-imageA durable, tough, ceramic coating, Eco-Floor 3300 is engineered for concrete and metal floors requiring superior long-term chemical resistance such as aircraft hangars, service garage floors, driveways, and automotive showrooms. Eco-floor SC3300 provides protection against corrosive materials such as gasoline, diesel and other petroleum products, thus making it suitable for industrial, chemical and secondary containment areas. In addition, this polymer coating serves as an excellent tank liner for solutions up to 98% sulphuric acid.

Crystal Loc

box-imageCrystal loc was made to help protect different types of concrete-based structures such as cement blocks, concrete slabs, underground vaults, basements, roofs, walls, pillars, sculptures, and more. Its deep penetration water-based formulation helps damage-proof any concrete surface without diminishing its natural look. Use Crystal Lok on concrete in any location where the seepage is not caused by cracking or other structural flaws.

Selecting the Best Industrial Floor Coating

Both epoxy-based and polyurethane-based floor coating are both used to protect surfaces. Hence, as a business owner or manufacturer, you are probably wondering which one is best for your shop floor. While epoxy coatings and polyurethane coatings are sometimes talked about interchangeably in online discussion forums, they are two different types of floor coatings with distinctly different properties. Hence, each application may require a particular type of floor coating. The only way for you to decide which one is more suitable for your project is by knowing and understanding these variations.[/ImageWithContent]

Regardless of whether you decide to go with an epoxy coating or a polyurethane coating, you’ll want to be sure the industrial coating you select is a two-part floor coating (meaning it is sold in two separate parts that must be mixed together).

The Two Part Epoxy Advantage

Two-part floor coatings have a distinct advantage over ambient air-cured coating products, in that they offer superior bonding characteristics. The amazing properties of two-part floor coating can only be understood by diving into how its molecules work.

Consider the example of an existing aged concrete floor that has been prepped to receive a new epoxy floor coating. If used correctly, the epoxy coating can be expected to penetrate the concrete surface by as much as 1/16th of an inch. The chemical reaction caused by mixing the epoxy resin (part 1) with the hardening agent (part 2) results in a curing process that hardens the coating and “welds” it to the concrete floor.

{If you were to saw out a 1’x1’ section of a concrete floor coated with a two-part epoxy resin, you would see with the naked eye where the floor coating infused itself into the concrete about 1/16th of an inch. By cutting the concrete floor in half, one can observe how deep the two-part floor coating has penetrated the surface.} This deep penetration is the reason why most experts recommend it over other types of floor coatings.

However, you must be careful in buying epoxy or polyurethane-based floor coating as, although some manufacturers would claim that they can do just as well, you can only achieve the same results with two-part coatings. One-step epoxy coating and paint products contain the equivalent of pre-cured epoxy, and lack the activating agents needed to form a chemical bond with the substrate. It is undeniable that they will harden the surface, but you can assure that it cannot do it as well as two-part coatings can.

Epoxy Floor Coatings vs. Polyurethane Coatings

In general, epoxy floor coatings offer better adhesion and chemical resistant properties than polyurethane coatings. Both types of industrial floor coatings are resistant to abrasions and have relatively similar cure times. Polyurethane coatings, on the other hand, have been shown to display stronger anti-UV properties compared to epoxy based coating. However, this advantage comes with a major drawback. Surfaces applied with polyurethane coating are more prone to damage due to its softer character.

Because of their superior adhesion, water and chemical resistant properties, and resistance to gouging, epoxy floor coatings are the best choice for coating industrial floors, and commercial floors where heavy machinery is in use and durability is a concern.

Our heavy-duty industrial epoxy floor coating is not only 100% solid-based but possesses all the benefits of two-parts coating that we have mentioned in this article. They are formulated with rubber additives for added impact and wear resistance. These high-performance coatings are resistant to alkalis, gasoline, and other corrosive substances.
