This primer can reduce vapors that can cause bubbles on the concrete coating. With its low vapor emission of <10 lbs, tests done using Anhydrous Calcium Chloride has shown that the product can be applied on concrete surfaces that were only poured seven days prior.

The Two Part Epoxy Advantage

Two-part floor coatings have a distinct advantage over ambient air-cured coating products, in that they offer superior bonding characteristics. The amazing properties of two-part floor coating can only be understood by diving into how its molecules work.

Consider the example of an existing aged concrete floor that has been prepped to receive a new epoxy floor coating. When mixed and applied properly, the epoxy coating seeps into the porous concrete surface about 1/16th of an inch. The reason it is better to use two-part floor coatings is that the chemical reaction of the curing between the epoxy resin and hardening agent results to a stronger bond between it and the concrete surface.

While polyurethane coatings offer a higher resistance to UV lighting, their softer nature makes them more prone to gouging than epoxy floor coatings.
